Understand the magnetic ring coil

Structure

Magnetic Ring: Usually made of magnetic materials such as ferrite, it has high magnetic permeability and can gather and enhance the magnetic field. It has various shapes, and common ones include the ring shape, rectangular shape, etc.

Working Principle

Electromagnetic Induction: When there is current passing through the coil, a magnetic field will be generated around it. Similarly, when the external magnetic field changes, the magnetic field inside the magnetic ring also changes. High Inductance Value: The presence of the magnetic ring significantly increases the inductance of the coil, enabling it to store more magnetic field energy. It can be used in circuits such as filtering and energy storage.

Electromagnetic Interference (EMI) Suppression: The magnetic ring coil has a good suppression effect on high-frequency electromagnetic interference. When high-frequency current passes through the coil, the magnetic ring will generate a large impedance, hindering the passage of high-frequency current and thus reducing the propagation of electromagnetic interference.


Applications

Power Supply Circuit: In a switching power supply, the magnetic ring coil is often used as an energy storage element to store and release energy, achieving voltage transformation and stable output. At the same time, it is also used for power supply filtering to filter out high-frequency noise in the power supply and improve the power supply quality.
